On Sunday, November 22 at 1pm,
the Huntington community will be the site for some 'fun'raising and
games at the local bowling center. A total of 12 teams will assemble to
have a fun afternoon bowling, while raising Disaster Relief Funds for
the local Chapter of the American Red Cross. With pledge sheets in hand,
bowlers will be competing for prizes while raising their scores to
increase the pledge amounts of; $0.10, 0.25,or 0.50 per pin, from their
sponsors.
Pledge sheets can be picked up at
various locations thru-out town, or at the Huntington Office located in
the County Annex Building at the corner of Market and N. Jefferson
streets.
The American Red
Cross shelters, feeds and counsels victims of disasters; provides nearly
half of the nation's blood supply; teaches lifesaving skills; and
supports military members and their families. The Red Cross is a
charitable organization – not a government agency –
it relies on donations of
time and the generosity of the
American public to perform its humanitarian mission.

On August 24, 2009 at the
monthly Board of Directors meeting for the Huntington County School
Corporation a motion was made to develop a committee. This committee
will examine the proposal to introduce CPR/First Aid training to all
school students above the age of 12. This motion was passed and further
meetings will be scheduled with representatives from; H.C.S.C. Board,
Huntington County Chapter of the American Red Cross, Parkview Hospital,
and other County office representatives.
More information will be updated as
these meetings take place.
Vanity License plate order forms soon to be
published.
